Updated Southwest Explosion Box

I love Southwest colors. The vibrancy of the warm hues always brightens my day. One of my favorite explosion boxes from Tangled Moons Etsy shop is the Southwest Box. Cricut sells a cardstock pack of paper in Southwest Colors which includes a bright royal blue and gray as well as orange, rust, bright yellow and brown. I haven't incorporated the gray into the box yet, but the other colors work together so well.
I learned how to cut and put together paper succulents on the Cricut machine, no small task at first since the project I used to do this the first time did not come with instructions for the flowery succulents. I did finally complete two and attached them to a Southwest box I used for myself to show memorabilia from a trip to New Mexico.
I found a simpler file on Cricut recently and made two more cacti for a new, updated and more complete box for my etsy shop. I love how the barrel cactus came together and how it fit perfectly in the center of the box. The simpler succulent looked really nice on the top with the Southwest sun. The Dreamcatcher stamps also makes the box come together nicely.
I'm just a sucker for cacti. I can't seem to manage live plants in a home with two cats and a dog, so the paper versions are great. I just ordered a new bundle from Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog called Oh So Succulent stamps and framelits. I can't wait to get these to start planning a Mother's Day Cards class. I think these will be loads of fun as well to make succulent wreaths. And the best thing is they never need attention!
You can purchase the stamps or framelits separately or you can purchase a set of pre-punched succulents in the Vertical Garden Project Kit. Here is a video for the project:
